Recknor, the implacable. Recknor arrived in the border town of Varenheim and soon became the county's chief blacksmith. His increasingly requested presence in the capital forces him to spend long periods away from his family.
When Varenheim was besieged, Recknor begged his lord to liberate the city to save his people. The Duke did not fail in his obligation, but he took too long to take precautions and it was too late for many of his inhabitants, including Recknor's family.
When he discovered this, he armed himself and made his way from the forge to the throne room, killing anyone who opposed him until finally ending the duke's life. “It was just a matter of taking up arms and fighting, my lord.”
Unfortunately, no one is left alive to learn the lesson.
